Each class will offer a theme explaining aspects of yoga, pranayama
and/or meditation. The classes are devoted to our individual and collective
awakening. Through the practice of asana, pranayama and
meditation we ignite our inner fire and light. Yin/Yang yoga
offers us a practice to develop our receptive and active natures
in a complementary way. The yin style of long-held passive poses
opens the various channels so energy can move more easily
through the body. The yang style then builds strength, stamina
and vitality as we flow through vinyasa. Asana practice prepares
us for pranayama and meditation. Through committed practice we
have the chance to reveal ourselves layer by layer, uncovering
our hearts and finding the compassion that links us all together
as one world.

Intro to Ayurveda for Yoga Practitioners

This 6 week series offers the opportunity to learn the
basic principles of Ayurveda, the ancient discipline from India
that translates as “the science of life.” Topics covered in this
series will include learning about the roots of Ayurveda,
understanding constitutional types (doshas), evaluating foods
and lifestyle that support one’s dosha, as well as yoga
practices that bring one into greater balance and harmony. The
aim of this class is to give people practical tools that will be
foundations for creating better health. There will be
recommended reading and handouts with every class.(Recommended
for those with at least one year yoga practice). To register

Come celebrate and set intention for the 2009, recommit
to your practice after the holiday rush, give yourself space for
reflection as we begin the new year. Join yoga community to set
your intentions. This practice will include yin yoga, a slow
deep flow to find your rhythm, breath and strength; pranayama to
awaken the breath and meditation to still the mind.
